Goddess Smoothie on a budget

Thought it would be nice to share a budget smoothie recipe.
Spring clean your liver with a alkalizing green smoothie.
With a gentle liver cleanse. Start each day with a smoothie with various greens added.
Spinach contains oxalic acid so it’s advisable to rotate your green vegetables. Kale, pak choi, cabbage, lettuce, beetroot leaves, broccoli leaves etc Use your imagination and just check it’s edible with delightful google!
Went to the market in town today.
Got 3 bunches fresh spinach £1
2 mangos £1
2 grapefruits 60p
Recipe I used for smoothie
1 mango
3 bunches spinach
2 grapefruits (squeezed)
Cup of orange juice I had in fridge
Whizz up in blender
Serves 2 large glasses or add some pure water to make it go further.

Half bag of kale
1 banana
2 oranges juiced
2 grapefruits juiced
Budget option: replace orange and grapefruit with water or any apple juice you can afford.
Whizz up with hand blender or high speed if you have one.
Drink and Enjoy the feeling of goodness in your gorgeous body!

One of my favourite cooked foods is lentils, they create a satisfying dish.

I used to love the young ones too.
tinned lentils make a great quick curry.
My Creamy Curry Recipe:

Ingredients

Serves: 3 

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground tumeric
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 (400g) tin green lentils
  • 1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tin coconut milk
  • chopped fresh coriander to garnish (optional)

Method

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Over medium-high heat in a large frying pan with the oil, fry onion, garlic and pepper until soft and onion is transparent.
  2. Add all of the spices and stir well for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and leave to simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add lentils and stir well. Leave for ten minutes then Add coconut milk.
  5. Serve with basmati or boiled rice, and add fresh coriander on top if desired.

Raw Vegan Falafel balls

Falafel balls
These are delicious!
two cups soaked sunflower and/or pumpkin seeds (soaked for 2 hours to overnight)
half cup fresh basil leaves
any other fresh or dried herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary)
1 clove of garlic
1 teaspoon grated ginger root
1 tablespoon of tahini or (peanut butter for a twist)
juice of 1 lemon
pinch of Celtic Sea Salt
pinch of cayenne
1 tablespoon of cider vinegar
flax oil and or olive oil (two tablespoons)
Grind down in Food Processor with S-blade. Roll into balls and roll them in sesame seeds. Wrap in lettuce leaves or use as a dip for veggies. Serves 2 to 4.

Super Duper Green Juice

Super Duper Green Juice
Try this super tasty immune system boosting green juice.
I pushed all this through my Juicer.
The green juice consisted of a whole bag of Kale
One fennel
Two carrots
Two local apples
Bunch of celery
Two parsnips
Half a pineapple
It is amazing in flavour and gave me an immediate zing you only get with live juice!
